Bureau of Developmental Disabilities Services IT Update

The Bureau of Developmental Disabilities Services mission is “To connect people with disabilities and their families to resources and supports to live their best life.” In support of this mission, BDDS is committed to modernizing its IT systems. The BDDS Gateway was launched in 2021 as an online avenue for individuals with disabilities and their families to apply for BDDS supports and services. BDDS has experienced a significant increase in applications through this new resource. The BDDS Gateway can be accessed at BDDSgateway.fssa.in.gov or by scanning the QR code below with your phone’s camera.

The Systems Consolidation Project is another means to support the BDDS mission. The SCP will streamline the BDDS systems which will allow case managers and waiver service providers to use a web-based system that is more intuitive, informative and practical. In doing so, it lends to greater communication among teams and enhanced direct service.

BDDS staff will begin another round of user acceptance testing activities this month. Resource material development to support training efforts of providers and case management organizations continues. The BDDS Portal 2.0 will go-live later this year and will continue to be updated over time through ongoing, planned releases. In the next few months, more information regarding virtual demos and training opportunities will be coming.

We appreciate the continued partnership on the important work of supporting individuals and families in living their vision of a good life.

Questions or comments related to the SCP Project or BDDS Gateway may be submitted to BDDS.SCPHelp@fssa.in.gov.
