For members and families

The Family and Social Services Administration will provide this regular update to members and their families during this period of transition.

What to watch for

You should have already heard from your care manager if you are affected by the Legally Responsible Individual service changes. If you haven’t, please contact your care manager.

 

More than 200 providers have become state-approved to offer Structured Family Caregiving. A list of providers offering statewide coverage is available here and a list of providers by county is available here.

An upcoming webinar will provide up-to-date information for individuals and families regarding how the Aged and Disabled Waiver will become the Health and Wellness Waiver for individuals who are 59 years and younger.

Question: Should I still apply for Medicaid if I have been placed on the Aged and Disabled Waiver waiting list?

Answer: Yes, you need to apply for Medicaid while you are on the waiting list.

Question: If I choose to transition to Structured Family Caregiving, can I access skilled care, such as skilled respite?

Answer: Yes, skilled care can be accessed while an individual is receiving Structured Family Caregiving.

Waiver transition

A&D Waiver will split on July 1

On July 1, the Aged and Disabled Waiver will split into two waivers.

Members 59 and under

  • This waiver is being renamed the Health & Wellness Waiver and is transitioning to the Division of Disability and Rehabilitative Services.
  • You should continue to work with your care manager for any waiver-related needs.

Members over 60

  • The Indiana PathWays for Aging program begins July 1. Members should begin receiving notice that the program begins in 60 days and informing them of which health plan will serve them.
  • Members who have not yet selected their health plan (Anthem, Humana or UnitedHealthcare) can still do so, or change their plan if one has been selected for them. Call 87-Pathway-4.

TBI Waiver to transition on July 1

On July 1, the Traumatic Brain Injury Waiver will transition to the Division of Disability and Rehabilitative Services.
