“Body Wellness & Independence Among Hoosiers with Disabilities” survey!

September 1, 2021

Indiana Disability Justice is asking our peers with disabilities to share their “Body Wellness & Independence Among Hoosiers with Disabilities” survey!

Survey Link: http://bit.ly/IDJsurvey

Purpose: This survey is intended to answer the following questions:

  • Are adults with disabilities in Indiana experiencing sexual violence, sexual harassment, and bodily restriction?
  • Do adults with disabilities in Indiana have access to information about bodily autonomy, sexuality, and supported sexual and romantic decision-making?
  • What do adults with disabilities want and need to feel autonomy in their bodies and sexuality?
  • Who can respond to the survey?
    • There are three requirements for participating in the survey:
      • You must be 18 years old or older (a legal adult)
      • You must live in Indiana and consider Indiana your current “home”
      • You must be a person with a disability

Who “counts” as a person with a disability? For this survey, all people with any disabilities are welcome to participate. This includes those who receive disability benefits and those who do not. This includes those with a formal medical diagnosis as well as those with informal diagnoses and self-diagnoses. People who are Deaf/HoH and consider themselves to be neurodivergent or part of a linguistic minority community are also welcome to participate.

Additional Support: If someone is hurting you, making you feel uncomfortable, or touching you in ways you don’t like, please reach out for support. You may use the following links to locate violence prevention services and disability support services in your area.
