Bureau of Quality Improvement Services mandatory training
on behavior supports additional date added
The Bureau of Quality Improvement Services is committed to supporting our provider network in working toward a true person-centered system which includes ensuring that individuals and those who support them honor individual rights and responsibilities.
As part of that commitment, and as announced previously on Feb. 14, 2022, BQIS is hosting a web-based training opportunity focused on behavior supports. We are pleased to be offering this in partnership with the Indiana Association of Behavior Consultants.
The presentation will cover what to expect from behavior supports, rights and modifications under the Home-and Community-Based Services Final Rule, and the role of the team in supporting the individual. This is the third in a series of trainings highlighting components of the HCBS Final Rule.
This opportunity is being provided at no cost to participants and is mandatory for all current Bureau of Developmental Disabilities Services home and community-based services providers. This means if your organization is a current BDDS service provider of any home-and community-based service, it is required that an executive level staff member of your organization attend this training. Sign-up, participation and completion of this training will be tracked and monitored throughout the training.
All others, including individuals with disabilities, program managers, direct support professionals, case managers and families are welcome to attend.
Advance registration is required to receive a link to join. You MUST use the registration link sent to you by Zoom to attend the training in order for us to track attendance.
Based on the enormous interest in this training, we have added another date. The March 15 date is currently full.
- March 23, 2022, at 11 a.m. EDT register here (approximately 50 slots remain for this session)
- March 30, 2022, at 2 p.m. EDT register here (additional date)
If you need accommodations to participate, please email jennifer.akers@fssa.in.gov at least three days prior to the event. If requested, ASL interpretation will be available for the March 23 training.
If you have questions, need additional resources or support, or have suggestions for additional training, please contact us at BQIS.Help@fssa.IN.gov.
We look forward to continuing to educate and support providers to empower individuals to live, love, learn, work, play and pursue their dreams!
