Housing Choice Voucher Opens Mainstream Program Waiting List  

On October 1, 2018, the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority  Housing Choice Voucher Department will open the waiting list for the Section 8 Mainstream Program for persons under the age of 62 with a disability.

Applications may be requested via email at S8Waitlist@ihcda.IN.gov  or by calling (317) 232-7788 and choosing option 9.

The voucher covers a portion of the rent and the tenant is expected to pay the balance. The tenants’ share is an affordable percentage of their income and is generally calculated to be between 30 to 40 percent of their monthly-adjusted gross income for rent and utilities. Most HCV program services are provided by Local Subcontracting Agencies throughout the state of Indiana.
