Case Management Innovation initiative launches with Request For Services

The Bureau of Developmental Disabilities Services is excited to share new information related to the Medicaid home- and community-based waiver redesign project. During the waiver redesign process, we received feedback that improvements are needed in case management training and consistency, and that this should be addressed separately from other waiver services. With these identified needs and available approaches, we have started an initiative known as Case Management Innovation.

This initiative starts with a request for services, which has been officially announced (at the link below) for the delivery of waiver case management services on the Community Integration and Habilitation waiver, and Family Supports waiver.

Request For Services (RFS) announcement: https://fs.gmis.in.gov/psc/guest/SUPPLIER/ERP/c/SCP_PUBLIC_MENU_FL.SCP_PUB_BID_CMP_FL.GBL?&   (see “RFS 22-67778 Case Management Services”)

This RFS is released as a part of BDDS’ ongoing work with the waiver redesign vendor, Human Services Research Institute, also known as “HSRI”. The RFS is part of BDDS’ effort to continuously improve the core foundational elements of the HCBS waiver system.

Frequently asked questions regarding the Case Management Innovation have been developed for individuals / families, case management leadership and waiver services providers. Please review these questions and answers on the Case Management Innovation webpage.

If additional questions about the RFS submission process remain, please contact: rfp@idoa.IN.gov

If additional questions about Case Management Innovation remain, please contact: BQIShelp@fssa.in.gov.

BDDS continues to appreciate and value the input and feedback our stakeholders have shared with us about what they want and need from their Medicaid waiver services. Thank you for your active participation.
