Effects of Exercise on Daily Life for People with Disabilities
Daily activities are the things most people do every day, like bathing, dressing, and household chores. These can be hard to do for people with mobility impairments, who often report pain, depression, and fatigue. If daily activities are hard, it can make people not want to do any activities at all. Sometimes people with mobility impairments don’t want to leave the house, because it can hurt too much or take so much effort to get ready.
Fortunately, research shows that exercise improves the overall health and wellbeing of people who experience mobility impairments. RTC:Rural researchers Dr. Craig Ravesloot and Andrew Myers wanted to know what that means for everyday life. They conducted a study to learn more about how exercise affects the participation of people with mobility impairments in their daily life activities.
