Extension for Stateline funding changes
Extension for Stateline funding changes
As outlined in the Division of Disability of Rehabilitative Services’ July 13, 2020, announcement , DDRS made the difficult decision to eliminate Stateline funded community based sheltered work and facility based sheltered work to meet the required 15% reduction as directed by the State Budget Agency’s May 21, 2020, communication to all state agencies for SFY21 (July 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021).
While the original effective date of these changes was set for August 14, 2020, DDRS will grant an extension until Friday, September 18, 2020. This will permit providers additional time to prepare their business for this change and to allow individuals to appropriately transition.
It important to note that this Stateline funding does not impact Medicaid home-and community-based services that may continue to be provided in facilities, such as prevocational services or other habilitation services. Individuals will continue to have access to various employment related services through Indiana’s home-and community-based services waivers. Additionally, individuals who may want to explore competitive integrated employment are encouraged to explore employment services available through the Bureau of Rehabilitative Services Vocational Rehabilitation.
