Family as paid caregivers, COVID-19 and Appendix K
On Friday, March 26, 2020, the Indiana Division of Disability and Rehabilitative Services and Bureau of Developmental Disabilities Services released guidance for providers on temporary policy changes related to the COVID-19 and Appendix K.
We have received a number of questions on the policy changes in relation to family as paid caregivers. At this time we are drafting additional guidance for providers, case managers, individuals and families to clearly outline the intent, allowable activities and how each change relates to children and adults using home and community based services. Until this guidance is issued, we ask that case managers and providers do not submit any changes to an individual’s plan or budget as it relates to the temporary changes in family as paid caregivers.
We expect to have the additional guidance by the end of the week. We appreciate your understanding and partnership during this time.
