Our friends from the Arc of Indiana have shared that amendments to Indiana’s Family Supports and Community Integration and Habilitation Waivers have been approved by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. The Family Support Waiver cap has been increased from $17,300 to $19,614, and annual transportation service limits have increased for each level of non-medical transportation. Approved amendments also include:
• Separation of vehicle modifications from specialized medical equipment and supplies services, creating two standalone services with their own separate cap limits. Vehicle modifications will include a $15,000 cap every 10 years, instead of a lifetime cap, with expanded modification allowances.
• Enhancements to service definition descriptions and remote supports.
• Expansion of several allowable/reimbursable activities.
• Permanent adoption of the rate increases applicable to specific services.
